- 2
Book with free cancellation

- 3
Turn up where they say
This one meets at Tours depart from San Marco Welcome Center at 27 San Marco Ave.
- 4
Wear the right shoes
You will be walking on old, uneven, badly lit ground for an hour or more. It is the advice every operator gives and most visitors ignore.

Spread along five miles
Founded 1565
The oldest continuously occupied European settlement in the country, and a spread-out one.
Four and a half centuries
St Augustine was founded in 1565, which makes it older than every other city on this site by more than a century. Its burial grounds and its fort have that much time in them, and the tour market has not fully caught up with the material.
The trolley earns its place here
This is the rare city where the vehicle is not a compromise. The old town is walkable but the lighthouse and the Castillo are not close to one another, so a trolley itinerary covers both where a walking tour must pick one.
Read what is actually visited
With sites spread along a few miles, the stop list matters more than in a compact city, and a tour that will not name its stops is telling you it stays in the old town. St Augustine is also relentlessly hot for much of the year, which is part of why the evening tour works here - the temperature is a reason to be out after dark rather than an obstacle to it.
What a night here actually costs
St. Augustine's 4 bookable tours start at $27 and run to $39, against a national ghost-tour median of $30 measured across 208 products. That puts St. Augustine squarely in the typical band. The middle half of all ghost tours runs $25 to $39.25, this city sits inside it, and price is therefore not the variable worth optimising here. With 4 products the field is small but real - enough to choose between, not enough for competition to have weeded much out. Read the review counts rather than assuming. We feature the tour we can evidence: 424 verified reviews, quoted below in the guests' own words.

Great! The presentations with the historical context were very good. Getting into the Old Jail at night was great; much better than daytime stuff. Drivers and guides were all great. We had a good time.
Honestly did not go. We were too exhausted by end of day. But we had missed our time slot earlier (our fault); the guides bent over backwards to accommodate us at a later time- we simply didnt make it to that one either. Simply in part of the great team there- high props for taking the time to do their best for a very sad, ragtag, hot-mess of a couple. Highly recommend.
Very entertaining. Trolly seats are extremely uncomfortable.
I really enjoyed this tour. Hazel and the silent driver were amazing. It was a great activity and would recommend it to everyone
Catalina was an excellent guide. Everyone did a great job! So much fun!
It was a great tour. The storytellers were very good. Loved going inside the haunted sites.
We had a great time!! Our guide, Celine, was amazing and so was our silent driver, Chuckles. We enjoyed visiting the jail & the wax museum during off hours & listening to the history.
Mercy, our guide was very knowledgable about the history of St Augustine. She was animated and engaging. She made it a ton of fun. Our driver was "Knuckles", a prisoner on loan from the haunted jail. He was very kind and a good driver. Charlie, the very wild, animated and realistic prisoner at the jail was very entertaining despite a vastly informative performance. The henchman in the haunted drug store was great, he had the audience roaring. Date of experience: March 2026
Reviews of other tours in the city
our tour guide, Bob, was very informative and friendly, he was interactive and lively with the group and patient with all of us at the stops. If anything we wish it could have lasted longer so we could have gotten some more time learning about the hauntings and history of it all.
It was really great! Our guide (a very nice woman named Sandy) was really great. She took her time and explained a lot. We really enjoyed it! 👍 👍👍Thanks again to the lovely Sandy.
The guide was very informative, he was very kind and even offered to take travelers back to their parked cars. I just wish that the tour was a bit scarier. I would have liked to go inside one of the buildings like the jail. But overall was a great tour
Our tour guild was awesome! He had a great speaking voice and was very funny! He even stopped so my little one could go potty. He was informative and a great story teller. The kids enjoyed stoping and taking pictures.
Robert was our guide. He was very informative, a great story teller, he knew his history. The night was perfect, Halloween, people all in costumes made the experience even more exciting. I would recommend this tour to everyone. We will be back.
We had a great time! Bob is an amazing guide, he was very knowledgeable and told us the great history/ghost stories! We'dtake it again! Thanks!
Our guide was very polite, quite funny and entertaining and most importantly an amazing storyteller. Would recommend him as a future tour guide.
We enjoyed this very much. Our driver was very knowledgeable and had a good sense of humor, too.
It was an excellent tour with a great guide . We learned a lot about the darker and unseen side of the city.
Our tour guide Emily was awesome and told great stories about the buildings in St. Augustine.
Martha was an awesome ghost tour guide. She was very knowledgeable in both historical and ghost phenomena. Awesome experience!
Tour guide was great. I would recommend ending up back at starting point.
